Privacy Policy
This is a working draft, current as of August 18, 2026. Kòd La is a pre-launch company, and this policy will be reviewed and updated, including by qualified legal counsel, as our practices and the platform evolve.
1. What we collect
When you join our waitlist, apply as a partner, apply as a reviewer, or submit a deck for a Founder Report Card, we collect the information you give us directly. Depending on the form, that includes:
- Email address (required for every form)
- Name (optional on most forms, required for reviewer applications)
- For founders: your vertical, your stage (idea, prototyping, raising, or built), a description of the gap you're trying to close, and a link to your deck if you submit one for a Report Card
- For partners: your organization, partnership type, cohort or portfolio size, and any notes about what you're looking for
- For reviewer applicants: your vertical specialties and a link to your LinkedIn or bio page
We don't currently collect payment information. Deck submissions are a link you provide, not a file upload we host.
2. How we use it
We use this information to manage our waitlist, follow up with you about access to Kòd La, match founders with partners and reviewers, and operate and improve the service. We don't sell your personal information, and we don't use it for advertising.
3. Third-party processors
We rely on a small number of service providers to run Kòd La, and your information may be stored or processed by them:
- Clerk, for authentication and user management. The information you submit through our forms is stored in Clerk on our behalf.
- Vercel, for hosting this website.
As the platform develops, we expect to add providers for things like payment processing and product analytics. We'll update this policy when we do, and name them here honestly.
4. Data retention
We keep your information for as long as it's useful for the purposes above, generally for the life of your waitlist entry or partner relationship with us, or until you ask us to delete it.
5. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights over your personal information, including the right to access what we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or ask us not to process it further. This applies whether or not you're covered by a specific law like the GDPR or the CCPA. We aim to honor these requests for everyone, not just where legally required. We don't currently hold formal compliance certifications for any specific framework.
To make a request, contact us using the details in the "Contact us" section below.
6. Cookies
This site uses functional cookies set by our service providers, including Clerk (to keep you signed in, where applicable) and Vercel (to run and secure the site). We don't currently use advertising or tracking cookies of our own.
7. Children's data
Kòd La is intended for founders, operators, and partners, and isn't directed at children. We don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we'll delete it.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our practices, our service providers, or the law change. We'll update the date at the top of this page when we do. Material changes will be reflected here before they take effect.
